I just upgraded to version 11.2. I went to mirror from my C drive to a USB drive H. before initiating the mirror I always scan the screens to verify what's being deleted or modified. I noticed something wrong. files I knew were there on my C drive ffs wasn't detecting. I created a test mirror using a directory with a small number of files to be updated. The attached screen shot shows the setup before starting the mirror. as you can see the four files on the bottom of the page appear to be only on the H drive and were therefore scheduled to be deleted. trouble is they ARE ALSO ON THE C DRIVE. I could see them clearly with windows file explorer and just to be sure I selected and played one of the fideo files. Upon executing the mirror as files on the H (right) drive were deleted. But then I found something I didn't expect. THE ORGINAL FILES ON THE C DRIVE WERE ALSO DELETED.
So now I am very concerned. Is this an issue with the new version or have past versions also deleted orginal files? Fortunely I have several backups to restore the deleted files. But I cannot use this program again without some explanation and resolution.
orginal files deleted when mirroring

Post screenshots of a File Explorer window for each location. Problems like this have always been a configuration error with paths or filters.

attached are the screen shots you requested. When I first discovered the issue, I knew that those folders were present as my file explorer was open on my second monitor and were clearly visable. Making sure it wasn't just a cache issue, I executed one of the video files and it played normally.
Since I had backup's I intiated the mirror and saw that the originals were deleted. My file explorer confirmed and when I tried to play the video again from the recent files menu on my video player it said file no longer available. I then copied the missing files back to the C drive from a backup on another drive done. Ran the compare and were now visable. Ran the mirror again and it ran fine restoring the previously deleted files with the ones I had restored to the C drive.
I have tried to recreate but haven't been able to. The screen shot I first sent is the only proof that I wasn't seeing things. It actually deleted the original files.

Well it's a tough issue since everything you said sounds exactly like FFS deleted the source files. From my experience, FFS doesn't perform any actions beyond what is shown in the compare screen though. There's like three different aspects of this that all contradict each other lol
At least you have a good backup system, keep an eye on it

I wish I could figure out what to look for 2 of the files were txt and 2 were mp4. I was using file sync for my backups, now I have to find something else but I'll keep testing it.

I have had the same problem.
I wanted to copy my recently ripped music to a backup drive. The music is in the form of Artist (folder), Album (folder), Track (file).
The new files were transfered to the appropriate folder (and sub folder) but when I checked the source the new files has been deleted: the Album folder was empty. The files that had been transfered previously were still there. Sort of like a selective "cut& paste" rather than "copy & paste".
Is there a setting for this?
