Hi there,
i use a MacBook Pro 2021 with M1 Max and use FreeFileSync Donation. I try to sync a local Thunderbolt-HDD to a Synology Folder over the Network. It's starts to sync but suddenly the Mac crached and rebotet by themself. After this there comes a arrormessage which i send to Apple.
Now somebody this issue and can help?

Similar problems here. We have a few Mac’s in our office. Since the change to Mac’s with m1 chip and BigSur and Monterey the whole mac crashes and restarts when copying large folders to our server (synology). Our old macs with Intel Chip are running still smooth without any errors.
Also copying the files with the finder to our synology server works perfektly.

We tried the newes versions of ffs as some older ones with no improvement.

Are the developers aware of the problem? Can we help in any way?

Thanks in advance

the finder and/or
(Not familiar with Mac, but) does that mean that this crashing is also happening outside of FFS?

Hi,
no. If we copy with the finder (similiar to the explorer in windows) all goes well witout error.
But usually after the hangup with ffs the finder needs to be restartet.

We tested ffs today in Rosetta-Mode which helps some applications to work with m1, but so far no luck.
I also corrected my description of the error above because I asked my college again what the errors are:
When copying large folders to our synology server the whole mac freezes and restarts.
Copping FFS to internal or external hard drives is no problem.
And we don’t get any errors when copying large folders with the finder to our synology server. Only with ffs.

Maybe this helps to find the problem
