We have the donation version, which was needed so that we can package the tool to our users.
However, the name of the donator is visible on the loading screen, which we don't want ours users to see.
We found out that the information lies in a file named registered.dat, but any modification to that file prevents using the tool. (Likely because the modified name doesn't match the encrypted string also present in the file)
Thus the question: is there a way to not display the donor's name in the loading screen? Either by changing the file or otherwise.

Unless all these "users" are your friends, this is a violation of the FFS Donation Edition terms: https://freefilesync.org/faq.php#donation-edition

We are a large government organization. Which means we are allowed to use FFS, according to your own link: https://freefilesync.org/faq.php#commercial .
Thus, we do not plan to distribute it around the web, but only internally.
Indeed, using FFS in a government organization is not quite the same as between friends, rather with coworkers. As our coworkers are not necessarily our friends, we want the donor's name not to be displayed, but replaced by the name of the organization.
We made a donation since apparently silent install is not possible with the free version. Your system took the name of the card holder and not the information given in the various fields of the donation form. It is now displayed at every startup.
Can this be changed at all?

I've updated the link to clarify that "free for commercial use" does not apply to the "FreeFileSync Donation Edition".

At this time FreeFileSync does not have a commercial offering (other than "take it or leave it").

Duly noted and thank you for the clarification.
That said, it feels somewhat incoherent to give an option commercial users crave (silent install) only in a personal version of your product. But then this is your stance and we deal with it.
Hopefully, this clarification of terms will avoid further misunderstandings.
