Mac OS -- Modal windows no longer open in the foreground

FreeFileSync (version 11.23 x86-64) is running for me on a Mac Mini (2018) under Mac OS Catalina (10.15.7).
Since some time I have the problem that the (modal) dialog windows of FreeFileSync do not open in the foreground anymore, so they are invisible.
Only when I switch to another application and then back to FreeFileSync I can see FreeFileSync including the corresponding dialog window.
This has made this - by the way excellent program - almost unusable.

What about FFS 11.24?

In the meantime I have installed and tested the version 11.24.
Everything seems to work (again) as it should.
