FFS_TMP files suddenly a problem

Not sure if this a recent upgrade problem but I'm suddenly getting lots of .ffs_tmp files on the destination and source drives.

They shown as unreconcileble errors on FFS and wont allow me to delete them - saying they are locked bby another process.

I'm also getting an error saying directory locks cannot be set

Sounds like whatever FFS is trying to write to is having an issue
