FreeFileSync - Needs shredder

As mentioned in my review. This program has saved me years and years of work. hats off to the developer(s)

The only reason I rated the features as good and not excellent is because I would like to see a reliable shredder built in. So when things are deleted on the destination drive the user has the ...

Re: Strange permissions issue on Sister's computer using FreeFileSync

I understand, but you didn't answer the specific question I asked about the UAC.
In any case I'll update you by saying that I turned off UAC on her computer and that did the trick! Easy solution.

Also, being that you can still copy and paste the text/path, or browse to folders is an option also ...

Re: Strange permissions issue on Sister's computer using FreeFileSync

Zenju, I don't understand the relationship of other persons issue you're pointing me to.

In any case, is this a User Access Control issue? I keep UAC turned off on my personal win7 machines, (my machines don't have the issue) but my sister's computer (which has the issue) most likely has UAC on by ...

Re: Strange permissions issue on Sister's computer using FreeFileSync

@Stefan:
I'm not dragging across user accounts. We were logged into her computer under the default account, which is an administrator account. That's how her computer is behaving. Regarding my own personal computer, I have two computers with win7 and one Linux machine and I've never had these issues ...

Strange permissions issue on Sister's computer using FreeFileSync

This is really odd, and I don't think it's an issue with FreeFileSync, but I could really use some help on this one. (note I've never had an issue with FFS on any of my own personal machines. Anyway.

Today I was on my sister’s computer (windows 7) I was showing her how to use FFS, (note: I forgot ...

Re: Explore here option bringing me to wrong location

That makes sense kind of, but if the path is too long, the file names usually get truncated.
The path actually was not that long, about 12 characters for the sub containing the images, the image file names are only 8 and all the image-sub folders were in a root folder that is directly on the root ...

Explore here option bringing me to wrong location

This is odd.
I'm syncing some sub folder picture sets in a root folder to the same root folder on another drive.
After doing a compare, when I was choosing the option to explore the image file in the source location, FFS pointed me to "My Documents" folder in my windows 7 user folder. There are no ...

Re: FFS v7.0, Debian, and 7.1 Debian - Cannot find the following folders

Nice work on this last version (5.22) Zenju!
This fixed the URI drag and drop issue for me on Linux. Much appreciated!
I could not be without this program! It's saved me years of work!

Re: FFS v7.0, Debian, and 7.1 Debian - Cannot find the following folders

Hello Zenju, Thank you for your response!

This distro comes with Nautilus 3.4.2 file manager by the way.

I'm curious if you could possibly consider two suggestions for a future release:

1. It would be a HUGE plus if you added the ability to only rename folders (excluding any files for that ...

Re: FFS v7.0, Debian, and 7.1 Debian - Cannot find the following folders

Hello Zenju,

The browse button works on all directories.
The drag and drop function doesn't work for anything.
I get an error no matter what folders I try to drag. The error happens when I click the compare button. By the way, Folders A & B are both empty, but it doesn't matter. The error happens ...

FFS v7.0, Debian, and 7.1 Debian - Cannot find the following folders

With regard to a new clean install of: Linux 7.0 Debian Gnome AMD64

I've seen a few other posts about the (Cannot find folders) error that fell to the bottom of the list here and none of the answers resolved the issue.
However I want to mention that if I use the "browse button" to link up the ...
