Suddenly, FFS wants to completely redo mirror jobs to usb sticks

This morning I went to top-off a mirror job to a usb stick. I started the job, but cancelled when I saw that FFS wanted to copy all 23GB over again, whereas I was expecting maybe 10KB of changed/new data.

I tested a mirror job to 2 other usb sticks - same result.

Massive hangs when syncing in Linux

I'm running FFS 9.8 on MX Linux 17.1 x64. This is the latest version of MX, which is a debian derivative.

Would FFS v8 work on ubuntu 14.04?

I run Linux Lite 2.8, which is based on ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) x64. I currently use FFS 6.x and it's working great. I'm fairly new to linux and don't want to upset anything. Does anyone know if FFS v8 would run on ubuntu 14.04, or are the FFS versions locked into specific linux versions?

Thanks.
