I've got the same problem. As I'm quite a noob with Ubuntu (and any other Linux distros as well), I followed these guidelines (as seen on this page: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1045412/how-to-install-freefilesync-on-kubuntu-18-04 - with tiny modifications for version 10.6):

I've been successfully using several previous versions of FFS on my Windows Vista SP 2 (x86) machine. For some reason, though, the installation of the new 9.0 version crashes on this machine.

Ok, maybe it is a bit much to ask. I've no idea how much work it requires to create and maintain a PPA. I just thought that since you are already making the portable version for Ubuntu every time you publish a new version, you could just add it to your own PPA as well :).

That's what I'd like to know too; if I make a donation and get the installer without any adware in it, will I continue receiving these "clean" installers for all the future versions as well, or will I need to make another donation every time I want to get a new version?
