Thanks for the link. I set up the crashreport on my Mac and rebooted. I wasn't able to get more information, though, because running it again, FreeFileSync now runs as it should and fails to crash :-)Do you have more details? https://freefilesync.org/faq.php#crash Zenju, 20 Dec 2020, 09:32

Crashing upon opening
FreeFileSync is consistently crashing on my Mac, right after "Searching for Program Updates" goes away. I believe I'm running the latest version, under Mac OS High Sierra.

Syncing to Android TV?
I'm getting an Android TV and hope to be able to automatically sync video drive between the TV and my Mac. Is there a preferred way to do this via FreeFileSync (on the Mac, at least)?

Re: Running the Donation Edition Offline
Hmm. So could there be a way to do it offline from the key file, at least to confirm that the file is valid? I can see problems with that, but I wonder if there are ways around them that i might not have thought of (not being all that up to date on current software security).

Running the Donation Edition Offline
My Internet connection was flaky today, but since I just sync things between internal and external drives on a single machine, I decided to do my usual syncs anyway. When I tried, a popup appeared asking for my donation key, either by going online (which wasn't possible) or by pasting it in to a ...

Re: Syncing with Extended Characters from a Windows Share on OS/X
OK, I ran a batch file which generated an error log. Here it is. Interesting that these files triggered the problem, but others which appear to have identical characters in the names haven't. This does suggest an encoding issue:

Re: Syncing with Extended Characters from a Windows Share on OS/X
I notice it's happening on some files with accents but not others. I'm using 8.0 on a fresh installation on the Mac, so haven't tried 7.0 on it.
Does FreeFileSync keep an error log that would list the files that failed after the fact?

Syncing with Extended Characters from a Windows Share on OS/X
On a Mac running OS/X El Capitan, I'm trying to sync from a Windows share to a native filesystem. I'm getting the following error on a lot of files. The one common factor is that all the filenames include extended characters such as accents or umlauts. Is there a workaround?
