Hi therube. Today is another day and I found the permissions and gave myself permission to do everything. I guess it had been set at default. Anyway after that, with a couple of hiccups, it worked! And I tested it on an update and that was ok too. So thank you for the help.

One last question - do I have to download FreeFileSync to the notebook? I only did it to my desktop. And unless I have the notebook on and appearing under "My Computer" on the desktop, how else could I locate and drag and drop the target file to the right side of the FreeFileSync window? Yes, it's a LAN type network - I don't use it for anything, but I added the notebook to the network because I couldn't see any other way of dragging the target file to the FreefileSync window.

No, I can access HPULTRABOOK. That's just the name I've given my notebook. Yes, I can browse, write/delete files. I just added it to the Network on my desktop - that's all there is on the network.
