Thanks, manual activation is working now for me. However, the automatic version check is still not working, but I've found the reason: the Web-Protection module of AVAST AV! After deactivating it, version check is running properly.

I have the same issue. Even if I get the Activation Key, I can't type it into the input box.
I don't think that it's a Firewall issue. The box doesn't accept any keyboard input.
My macOS is the latest one (10.13.6).
