I checked the job.
I have no post-sync commands.
And I find no where to open an Explorer window.
I'll chalk it up to another Windows 10 bug and manually close the windows after each job execution.
Thank you all for the help.

Windows Explorer window(s) open after batch sync completion
I use a batch job to essentially sync two drives, triggered daily by a Windows 10 64-bit Task Scheduler task.
Sometimes, but not always, a Windows Explorer window for one or both sides of the sync remains open after the sync completes normally.
This does not seem to harm the sync function, but it is ...

Mirror with Time span
I have a Mirror job in which I set the Time span to last 31 days.
Source files from the last 31 days are copied to the target directory.
As a Mirror job, I expected files older than 31 days in the target directory to then be automatically deleted.
They are not.
Either my expectations are incorrect ...

Re: Crash software
2022-09-03 Similar/same problem.
Win10 64bit v11.23 worked aok for all my 4 sync jobs.
Both v11.24 and v11.25 crash on one specific job, which I had not run since late July when I was on v11.23.
My other 3 sync jobs continued to work in both v11.24 and v11.25.

Re: Sync only the directory tree
Thank you both for your help.
I have read these replies repeatedly and have to admit that I still do not know what the correct method is.
Since you two do not seem to exactly agree either, I guess I should not feel too bad.

Sync only the directory tree
A prior post indicated this can be done in the Windows command line.
https://freefilesync.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9255&p=34303&hilit=directory#p34303
But this can be a bit error prone, and tedious if the user does not want all of the directories at a given tree level to be replicated.

Re: Mirror not deleting large folders
Thank you. My bad.
Long ago I had excluded these particular folders because they were no longer being updated on the source disk. I must have read right by the exclusion list when I checked the Sync job.
Thanks again.
Very good.
All makes sense now.

Mirror not deleting large folders
I am mirroring one external USB hard drive to another; the drives themselves are identical.
It has been working well for many months.
However, I let the source drive - and therefore the target drive - get too full.
They are not 100% full, but so full that I decided to move some source folders to a ...

Re: FFS_GUI & FFS_BATCH File Locations
Thank you so much for that accurate and thorough reply. I followed your steps and easily moved all of my ffs files to a separate folder. Maybe you could add this info into the standard help files.

FFS_GUI & FFS_BATCH File Locations
Each time I create a new sync job, an new *FFS_GUI or *FFS_BATCH file is creaated in my Win 7 documents main folder. I would like to move these files into a dedicated FreeFileSync folder, and also set a default such that any new files of these type are created in that dedicated folder.
