This is definitely Drivepool's fault, I've attached another screengrab to illustrate.
Thanks again, for all the help. I would have never figured this out, otherwise.

Re: NTFS to NTFS via SMB Move Detection Not Working?
Interesting, now we're getting somewhere.
It looks like it might be a problem with Drivepool, and not FreeFileSync.
Something is causing the File ID to change, but only in certain circumstances.
I've attached a successful rename (test >Test) and a failure (Test > Rename).

Re: NTFS to NTFS via SMB Move Detection Not Working?
I'm still not seeing any evidence that it's actually trying to compare.
I think it's just silently failing because the folders are too deep.
Nevermind, I can't seem to get it to work, now.
I'll report back if I figure anything out.

Re: NTFS to NTFS via SMB Move Detection Not Working?
Thank you!
I was testing last night, and I think it has to do with the depth of synced folders.
I will try the beta, and see what it tells me.

NTFS to NTFS via SMB Move Detection Not Working?
FFS 10.22 Donation Edition 64Bit
Both source and destination folders are NTFS.
I'm using Windows File Sharing (SMB) to connect one computer to the other.
I'm using the UNC to point to the remote folder (but I've also tried mapping.)
I'm using 'mirror' with rename detection enabled.

Re: Filter by accessed date rather than modified date?
I'm trying to do precisely that. By date.
The entire contents of the server are mirrored at a second location.
The only files I need to move are the new ones.
Filtering by time makes the most sense, only date modified isn't the best choice.

Re: Filter by accessed date rather than modified date?
The source volume is 73TB.
Short of having a 73TB external HDD, the time filter is necessary.
Using accessed date, rather than modified, would solve the problem.

Filter by accessed date rather than modified date?
I use an external HDD to shuttle new files from my NAS to my backup server.
I use the mirror function, with the time filter set to one week.
Problem is, FFS filters by modified date.
That means it doesn't catch new files from another volume or zip file.
Is there any possibility to filter by ...

Re: Detect moved files over FTP?
I switched... everything, and it's still not working.
I'm running FFS on the source computer, now, not the destination.
I'm using SMB / Windows File Sharing over VPN, rather than FTP.
If I create a 'test' folder, and put a handful of files in it, FFS can detect renamed / moved files.

Re: Different FTP threads for scanning / transfer?
I'm the same guy who had the question about detecting moved / renamed files over FTP.
Maybe the solution to both of my problems is just to use a VPN, and sync my files over NFS / SMB.

Re: Detect moved files over FTP?
I was afraid of that.
So I should be able to reverse the roles of the two machines, and have it detect moved/renamed files?
I'll lose the ability to have the machine sleep / shut down when it's done, but that's a reasonable sacrifice.
I'll try it the next time I'm due to do a sync. Thank you.

Different FTP threads for scanning / transfer?
Is it possible to set a different number of FTP threads for scanning vs. the actual transfer of files?
I use 30 threads to scan folders on my FTP server, but obviously things get hairy if I try and transfer 30 files at the same time. I only have ~20mbps internet.

Detect moved files over FTP?
Should FFS be able to detect moved files when using FTP?
I'm doing a one-way sync/mirror from a remote FTP server to a local NTFS partition.
I have read/write access to both locations, and it's successfully creating the log files on both machines.
