Found the problem. I think old project files from an old version of FFS was causing it.
The problem went away when I opened a new sync project!

Sorry if this question has been asked b4.

After file comparison, somehow many new files have this "-" doing nothing sign.
It is clear that the right hand side does not contain this file.
Why not give it "->" sign? Therefore I can no longer backup my files...

I have adjusted the hard link syncing procedure to yield better results:
(though not perfect and sometimes it doesn't sync well due to different time-stamps)


Source disk w:
Mirror disk g:

1) use FFS to sync w: and g: first.
2) convert duplicated files to hard links in w: (using DSFS)
3) convert ...

In step (4), FFS reported that the left side is newer for a number of files.
Is there a way for FFS to update the time stamps on the right side such that the compare becomes identical? This hopefully should fix the problem. Tks!

Found this wonderful free app (DSFS) to automatically search for duplicate files and one
can then choose to create a hard link for all the duplicates. (to save disk space)

Got it working now. Just run FFS as admin:

Right click on FFS shortcut on desktop and select properties. And under compatibility, check
"run this program as an admin"

oops, I am getting this error too while testing the symbolic link syncing between
2 drives.

Firstly I have to say thank you for such a great product and it is almost perfect with
the inclusion of Symbolic Links handling options.

It would be perfect if Hard Links can be handled the same way too.
