I got the same issue with version 11.12 running on Linux Mint 20.2.
Some files (not sure if if affects all files) could not be synchronized between my NAS and fileserver, running FFS on the fileserver. I got the same error as Wolfgang.

My workaround is to run FFS on a Windows 10 machine instead ...
