Couldn't FFS also just include its own dark theme, or even let us customize the element colours ourselves? This is one of the last applications with an old-fashioned 'stare at the sun on my 4k monitor' interface. How is there no dark mode?!?

I was able to get freefilesync with a dark version with wsl/ubuntu on windows.
It's not like freefilesync was natively in dark, but you could have freefilesync in a windows window and with a dark theme.

I had the same thing, all white backgrounds. I fixed most of them by switching my GTK theme from BlackMATE to Breeze-Dark . A couple other dark themes looked good, too, but I prefer this one so far.

I changed this in my system-settings app, under Theme.

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS with Cinnamon ...

Also bad for my screen, the white parts stay on the screen and slowly fade away after that part of the screen has been pure white for some time.

Could we please get a basic dark mode? Where it is dark (black or dark grey) instead of white, and the letters are white instead of black?

In the 13.7 version, I get only the dark mode and prefer the lighter mode.

There needs to be some compromise when targeting all platforms. On Windows, the GUI looks best on Windows 10/11, which is run by the majority of users. Ideally this should be solved by supporting color themes. The main reason for themes would be dark-mode however.
