Re: Can I simultaneously Sync a folder to multiple SFTP server destinations?

If your source is e.g. C, and your SFTP destination locations are respectively SFTP_D, SFTP_E and SFTP_F, you can simply define multiple left-right pairs as C => SFTP_D C => SFTP_E C => SFTP_F in a Mirror sync variant. You will get a warning that there is a full or partial overlap between your sync ...

Re: Deleting sync settings

FFS nor RTS never "starts by itself", unless it is placed in the users Autostart folder (assuming Windows), or started as a Scheduled Task. Deleting the *.ffs_batch -file does not change anything, other than that FFS or RTS is not able to find the *.ffs_batch -file and throws an error. Sim...

@murda

I did.
But your later reaction regarding the tape library clarified your initial question.
You are really talking about order at file level.
And I am sorry to say that it seems FFS does not have that capability.

Re: Inclusion Filter is re-ordering position

AKA: You can define more folder pairs to avoid the need to run syncs in a certain order Sorry to disagree, but: • Having multiple left-right folder pairs in FFS does not mean that those folder pairs are synced in sequence/order as listed. • FFS will only run a single Compare prior to any actual syn...

Re: Inclusion Filter is re-ordering position

Or said in other words: If you have defined a FFS sync configuration in which the order in which the sync is executed would matter, then you did not define a proper/correct FFS sync configuration. Such improper FFS sync configurations can normally only happen if you have multiple left-right base loc...

Re: RealTimeSync not starting

Using Task scheduler is more difficult for no real benefit, but you can do that if desired. The prime benefit of using the Task Scheduler over the Autostart folder, is that it allows you to run tasks under different, specified user credentials. This is almost a must if you really care about safety....

Re: RealTimeSync will not mirror to Google Drive?

The reply of xCSXenon above even indicates a benefit of (by default) adding all base-locations in a sync configuration to the RTS list of Folders To Watch. The only one who can tell for sure is Zenju, but personally I believe that this approach was simply the quickest and easiest way to make RTS &qu...

Re: Feature wanted: auto update checksum file

You can have FFS run a command On Completion (see the Synchronization Settings, F8 ), However, any such command will "hit" all files in scope, not just the ones just copied over or updated. You could also have FFS invoke some self-created script-file via the FFS On Completion command line....

Re: RealTimeSync will not mirror to Google Drive?

Simply create the RTS job in the RTS GUI by dragging the *.ffs_batch configuration into the RTS GUI (as you show above), then remove the gdrive locations from the list of Folders To Watch, and then save that RTS configuration as a *.ffs_real-file via the RTS GUI File menu (top-left) under a self-sel...

You contradict yourself. You wrote: > Using FreeFileSync, the present approach is to compare the folders at the top level, initially select 'Do nothing' for all as the default action. Re: How to Sync-as-Selected ?

From your description, there seem to be two options for simplification. 1) Use multiple left-right folder pairs 2) Use the Include and/or Exclude Filter Or use a combination of 1) and 2) Ad 1) Instead of using a single left-right pair FolderA and FolderB, use multiple left-right folder pairs . Re: Temporarily disable Filter (F7)

The simplest way would be to have a "full" sync configuration saved as a *.ffs_gui file. If you want to make (temporary) changes to that configuration, simply do so, eg. by deleting entries in your Include- and/or Exclude-Filter rules. Just make sure not to save any of those changes (at le...

Re: Sync to encryped folder to then sync to the cloud

@xCSxXenon BoxCryptor used to work (and I suppose still does) work with encryption at file level. Therefore it is a near ideal companion to FreeFileSync, which also works at file-level. The free version encrypts the file-content, but not the file-name; the paid version also is able to encrypt the fi...

A couple of years ago I used BoxCryptor for that purpose.
They still exist, and there is even a free version (for personal use).
Check them out.
At least then, it worked perfectly together with FreeFileSync.

Your case (Document i ) seems to state that the (left) folder Documenti does not yet exist, and that FFS will automatically create it for you. You can start by checking if the Decay sync configuration works as expected by opening it in the FFS GUI, and running it from there.
