Re: Cannot RDP after sync in progress: Business Edition
I would guess network saturation over anything else honestly. Is this server syncing with a remote location or only local resources?

Not sure... I'm guessing you are doing anything "incorrectly", just something weird and unintuitive is going on. Maybe Zenju will have some insight or insider knowledge

This doesn't seem to be accurate, here is the log file created when I run FFS via command line similar to your example

If you save a FFS configuration as a batch config, you can select to have it run minimized and/or auto-close. You likely missed these, as they sound like what you are asking for and more

Your request isn't very clear. You can 'tag' configs in the top-left panel by color and you can also add notes to a configuration in its respective settings windows. Is this what you are wanting/referring to?

Re: Is there a way to set "Exit" as a default choice?
Just save it as a batch job configuration and run it with a shortcut from your Desktop, Start Menu, or wherever else. The you won't even have a GUI to exitI want the GUI to exit when the sync is completed. I don't want to select 'Exit' it each time. ineuw, 27 Mar 2024, 18:10

Re: File "modified" date/time changed
How can I get FFS to not change the time and date of files? FFS doesn't change file metadata, except to correct it. When FFS transfers a file, it will have the wrong modification time, and then FFS corrects it. If FFS can't correct it, something is preventing it. Phones using MTP are a common occur...

You want to set 'exit' for your permanent option for what?
In FFS, you can have a sync configuration run a post-sync command, or you can save as a batch job which provides an option to sleep or shut down the computer afterward. Are these along the lines you are looking for?

Re: Stuck on volume Shadow Copy
It seems most correct that it isn't an issue with FFS then.
It is more likely a problem with your Windows 11 installation. Run an in-place upgrade / repair install and see what happensor a general problem with VSS in Win11

That was my first link but they were unable to figure it out...Did you try using the Windows Task Scheduler?
There you can choose to run tasks based on a given time, but also upon given events, such as startup, login, logoff and shutdown. Plerry, 20 Mar 2024, 13:17

https://freefilesync.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9873 RTS doesn't work when monitoring a Google Drive location. Re: how do run FileSync during windows shutdown ?
You might find it easier to simply write a batch script that runs the FFS sync and then runs the shutdown command after that finishes. Name it whatever, but it would contain two lines: "C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync\FreeFileSync.exe" "C:\Path\To\Your\FFS\Config\File" and shutdown...

Re: Synchronize files based on their creation date.
There isn't currently a way to define a sync order, other than manual babysitting. For example, only syncing a subset of directories first, then another set, then another, and on and on. Or, running a comparison to gather all changes and selecting what you want in the results to sync 'selectively'. ...
