Re: RealTimeSync unter Linux (ZorinOS) konfigurieren
I don't know, but will assume RealTimeSync (RTS) works under Linux ZorinOS. But you can easily check by having RTS monitor just a single folder where no programs nor the OS makes changes, and then manually create a change there. It is also quite possible that it only works on a local drive (/Home ?)...

Re: Avoiding errors afer updating meta data in files
To start out with: It is FreeFileSync (FFS) that is mirroring your data, not RealTimeSync (RTS). RTS will only launch FFS (or any other application you may specify) upon detecting any changes in the RTS monitored folders. So, anything related to your sync is configured in FFS, not in RTS. It seems y...

I am not the developer, but ... Ad 1) Note that FreeFileSync (FFS) is first and foremost a synchronization program. 1) Correct. As discussed multiple times in this forum.
2) If there will never be any other, concurrent FFS syncs involving C:\ (and/or Z:\) you should be safe to not use the lock files.

Re: Cannot write file "C:\sync.ffs_lock"
Instead of using a single left-right base-folder pair, C:\ <=> Z:\ you could use: Assuming \some1 and \some2 are different: use two folder pairs 1) C:\some1\folder <=> Z:\some1\folder 2) C:\some2\other\folder <=> Z:\some2\other\folder and a simple Include Filter * . Re: Install & Upgrade FreeFileSync via Chocolatey
Apart from the above discussion, which now seems to narrow down in semantics, there may be another obvious reason for the developer not to make updates available via Chocolatey: It simply means extra work. Zenju then needs to invest time and effort to pick up the detailed requirements of using Choco...

I am not familiar with Unraid servers, but as xCSxXenon already wrote: If the Windows machines are now the remote locations, they need to have network shares set up. Re: Content compare and mixing compare
Same arguments as already provided in the previous discussions on this topic: In order to determine the hash of a remote file, FFS would need to download the remote file to the machine running FFS. Then it can better compare the entire left- and right-side file than first determining the hashes of t...

If the "stubborn" files are consistently the same files, you could add those files to the Exclude Filter.
But obviously those files would then never get synced.

Re: Foldersync down to a certain subfolder level
Assuming your left and right base folder is the parent of all YEAR folders, you can add an Exclude Filter rule \*\*\*\*\ This should exclude all subfolders (and any of their content) at least four levels deep in the base location. The first *\ matches (at least) all YEAR folders, the second *\ (at l...

Re: Very slow transmission speed FFS 12.3
Likely you have left "fail-safe file copy" checkmarked (in FFS GUI / Tools / Options), as recommended.
This creates an overhead.
Even more so, when you would have set the VerifyCopiedFiles flag to True.

You can define multiple left-right folder pairs.
In its simplest form your first left-right pair could be
[DesktopPC] => [BackupLocation1]
and your second left-right pair
[DesktopPC] => [BackupLocation2]
