MTP supports only one read or one write operation at a time per device (folder traversals don't have this limitation).Zenju, 03 Nov 2020, 16:55
for someone trying to synch folders within a mobile device - I've a closely related question. I'm trying to get consistency between files and subfolders on an SD card and the mobile phone internal storage and am getting the cannot write error_busy message - is that still all one device for synching purposes? Do I thus, have to go via my PC to avoid these errors?
Not sure I understand it, but now I'm also seeing sync.ffs_db files on my mobile, I assume somehow related to the synch process not completing successfully (with the latest version of FFS). I don't believe I've seen them in the past?
Thanks for the feedback and the list of links to other tickets. That was quite a lot to look at! Interestingly, I haven't noticed the instability several other refer to during the process. In conclusion, so far as I can see none of these links actually answered my question about what is recognised as a separate drive. But since basic synching with a PC is working, without errors messages, I guess I have my answer!
Seems to be lots about using another product rather that FFS to do a robust comparison - do I need that?
Thing is; looking more closely at what is made to be the same across different drives I've come up against a new query, which TBH I can't understand why it isn't mentioned specifically in the documentation or demo videos here - use of file name (or not it seems) as a synching criteria / reference point. As it's a different topic I'd better raise a new ticket. Thanks
