Hello

We have a somewhat special use case and I would like to ask you regarding a proper licensing.
In our Company, we have 10 field service employees witch all have an encrypted external HDD.

To keep the data up to date, we would like to synchronize our data via the portal version of FreeFileSync.

Ten users synchronize their data from different computers to their HDD. It is quite possible that one user starts the synchronization from multiple computers.

It may also be that the user has no installation rights. Because of that and due to performance improvement, we created a setup file, which contains the complete portable version. Every time the setup is executed, it extract the FFS Portable Files (and two Jobs) to the external HDD and checks if the client is internal (LAN) or external (WAN).
- On LAN Connection setup starts FFS sync directly form the server. (Job A)
- On WAN Connection setup starts FFS sync via the FTP. (Job B – slower)

After the FreeFileSync.exe is closed, our setup deletes all portable FFS files.

We bought a license (one User) to test the whole thing and it seemed to work. However, after a few more tests on different Computer (and WITH different User-Accounts) we received the following message:
“FreeFileSync Donation Edition was registered to be used by at most 1 user(s), but was recently activated on 6 different machines”

My question(s):
Can we just buy 10 licenses and the problem is solved?

Or: is the problem of the constellation with our setup?
Maybe because we delete all portable files after every synchronization?
Because of next statement: “we have copy != use and copy = installation, ergo installation != use.”
Could we solve the problem if we did not delete the portable files afterwards?

Hope the text is not too complicated written and hopefully there is a solution for us. :)

Yes, that will do. The deletion of the program files after each use shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks @Zenju

I just have one more questions.
Where can we buy a Multi-User Licence with credit card (not PayPal).
On the FAQ page, I always get forwarded to the Paypal page.

And on the Donate Page, I cannot choose the number of users:

Can I just write the number of users in the optional comment filed?

Thanks a lot!

Yes, that's correct. I assume the problem is, you don't want to use paypal?

Exactly. We can only pay via Credit Card.
Is there a way to get a multi user licence, paid with credit card?

You should be able to use the Credit Card with PayPal, too, without having to create an account. Did you try this?
See "Donate without joining PayPal": https://freefilesync.org/download.php

Okay.
