Questions about the Donation Edition

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here!

I am considering making a donation for FreeFileSync, but first:

• My husband and I have 4 laptops which we use at home (3 Windows, 1 Linux) ; will we be able to use the Donation Edition on all our laptops?

• How long will we be able to get free updates for future versions of FFS?

I checked the FAQ and it's not clear to me...

Are you sure that's correct?

I thought I remember seeing some sort of dialog of the sort that is was "already installed on so many X devices" (& there was a limit)?
(Or am I thinking of some other software?)

I couldn't find the thread, but the activation limit was removed because of it being annoying to support, I think

I'll note that I'm using Portable version, in case that matters.
(I'll pop back in, in a bit, if I get a chance to throw 12.3 in & I'll see if it says... ?)

Will this cause activation problems if we re-install Windows without "releasing" FreeFileSync from that laptop?

Hmm ... if you go to the FFS Home Page and click your "Thank you" button, it shows a message at the bottom of the screen that "FreeFileSync is currently installed on X devices".

So, is there a limit to the number of installs and what happens if you reinstall Windows and forget to de-activate FreeFileSync before you do so?

Nothing happens, it will just work.
Those are essentially remnants from when activations were tracked and there were limits in place

At least he isn't taking 5€/month for the donation version anymore.
I already donated more then a commercial program would cost.
