Hi!
Parallels VM file (exm: Windows 10.pvm) actually is a folder. So when I syncing it with backup directory the program compare every inner files. Like this:
/Volumes/VM BACKUP/BACKUP/Windows 10.pvm/Windows 10-0.hdd/Windows 10-0.hdd.0.{1543cf2f-4218-4ce8-a993-b6e35503aeca}-438b.ffs_tmp
Is it possible to teach the program to threat that folder as a file?
Thank you.

Hi,
As far as I know the best easiest and only way would be for you to encase that folder in a zip file. FFS can back up the zip file as a single file just need to ignore the file that is the folder.

That is the first thing that came to my mind. But this makes script more complex. Freefilesync unable to zip folders. I've wanted to make do with just this program.Hi,

As you said, it isn't a file, so you aren't going to be able to compare it as one

Ok. Then maybe I can disable compare function? To use only time copy and retention policy? As you said, it isn't a file, so you aren't going to be able to compare it as one xCSxXenon, 20 Jul 2025, 19:11
