I often rename files, often quite large (>10GB) files, and when I used FFS to sync to my other drives, rather than performing a rename, it deletes the old file and copies the renamed file across. The seems rather wasteful and would certainly be putting a bit of extra strain on my SSDs...
My question therefore is: Can FFS be set to simply rename (when all other file attributes are unchanged) rather than copy/replace?
Cheers,
Mike.
How to simply rename a file, rather than a copy/replace?
