Hello! o)
I just found out about FreeFileSync.. It looks very interesting! o)
One major feature I miss in all the sync tools out there is "Syncronizing of ADS".
I read that FreeFileSync will copy ADS, but does it update changed ADS when mirroring folders?
Thank you for taking the time! o)

ps: Short explanation why this is useful to me:
I use a filemanager "Directory Opus" on Windows, which allows to rate, tag and comment any file and folder. The filemanager uses ADS to store this kind of metadata whenever the actual file format does not support metadata like rating, tags and comments (like regular *.txt file or a regular folder). If I change the comment/rating etc. on a regular text file or folder e.g., I need the changed ADS to be synced to the destination.
Does it sync ADS (Alternate Data Streams)?

Does changing the ADS change the file date/time ?
What type of scan are you using?
If Content & there is no file content change, then no ADS changes will not be detected.
If Time/Size, & if it changes, then it looks like yes the file will be re-copied, along with the update ADS.
(FFS is not detecting the change to the ADS, it only "happens" to copy the ADS, & only because some other criteria is met, like changing file content, or time/size, which triggers a copy to occur.)
(Note that not all file systems support ADS.
I've never understood a "feature" that is essentially an albatross, [mklink falls into that category too ;-)], that one then depends one.)

There is an option to change modification timestamp if ADS data was changed.
Right now, I don't have it enabled, so file timestamps will not reflect updates in ADS.
What do you mean with "What type of scan are you using?"
So what you assume is, that if timestamps change, the whole file and its ADS will be copied. The ADS data itself does not have creation/modification timestamps I guess, so it's not obvious if ADS data was altered, right?
Since I'm not native speaker, I didn't really get your sentence about the albatross thing! o)
Did you question the usage of ADS, kind of? o)
Thank you! o)
