The manual page "https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=realtimesync" looks like it's out of date. When I launch RealTimeSync 13.7 it does not ask for a Target directory (not needed), and it does not require FreeFileSync.exe to be run with my command file as its argument, instead it just runs the command file directly (simpler). Now every time I change anything on the Source disk it mirrors it to the Target disk (I use robocopy /purge). Thanks for making this tool that gives me real-time backups. It's brilliant. I'll definitely donate.

The RTS manual page is still spot-on.

You simply specify one or more folders/directories that need to be monitored for changes in the Folder(s) to Watch field(s).
The shown Folder(s) to Watch field-entries C:\Source and D:\Target are just examples.

Similarly the Command Line field-entry shown on the RTS Manual page is just an example; it can be any executable command line.

Thanks for your reply. I wish I could upload a screenshot of RealTimeSync so you can see that it differs from the screenshot in the manual, but I can't see how to do that. Is there a way? The difference is not important, the tool is working perfectly. I suspect that everyone looking at the manual knows the entries shown are just examples but thanks for mentioning anyway.

The page does not mention a target directory anywhere, so what do you mean?
it does not require FreeFileSync.exe to be run with my command file as its argument
Correct, it states this also "Usually this command line will trigger a FreeFileSync batch job."

Unless Zenju changed it within hours, your original post doesn't seem to be correct

I must be looking at the wrong page in the manual. When I clicked on the help link in the RealTimeSync panel I was taken here: "https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=realtimesync".
On that page the RealTimeSync panel is shown but it is different from what I have on my screen. For example, the manual page has shows "Folders to watch:". Is that what you see on that page? The version on my computer shows "Folders to watch for changes:". That is just one of several differences. Thanks for any advice. It's not a big deal because the tool works. But I am puzzled that's all.

Please, is there an email address I can upload a screenshot to? Then this issue might be resolved in a few seconds (I have the wrong version of the program or the wrong manual page). Thanks.

Simply upload the image, somewhere, & post a link to it (& or hotlink it in the forum).

Thank you therube. Here is what RealTimeSync 13.7 looks like on my Windows 11 PC:
https://imgbox.com/OgoZPX4w

The panel looks different to both the screenshots I see here: https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=realtimesync.

If I am looking at the wrong manual page can someone please tell me. But it is the page the RealTimeSync Help takes me to. Thanks for any further advice.

Yes, it is different. However, your initial post was saying it contains incorrect info when the only difference is that the current version of RTS has more verbose and clear wording than the manual.

Thanks for acknowledging that it is different. I do not see the word 'incorrect' or similar in my initial post. I was only asking why it was different, such as showing a Target disk when my version doesn't show that. That's a significant difference. Also the manual shows FreeFileSync.exe taking the batch script as an argument but the tool worked only after I removed FreeFileSync.exe and just put my batch script. I am not using a USB stick so I disregarded the screenshot for that. I know it's a pain to keep documentation always updated with changes so I was not complaining, merely asking. It looks like this is the case here and my initial post was, therefore, factual and correct. As soon as the tool worked I upgraded to the donation version and the panel did not change or I would have said so in my initial post. Thanks for everyone's time.
