Hi all,

I migrated from Windows to Mac recently and I was trying to set up FFS on my Mac and I gave the Full Disk Access permission like it guided me to (and quit&reopened too) but I still cannot access any files on my disks on FFS.

What might I be doing wrong? Are there additional permissions needed?

Thank you!

Okay, I think I know why: NTFS format for the disks... I guess I'll have to switch one to APFS and copy the files from the other backup and then make that one exFAT to be able to go back and forth in between Windows and Mac if need be. Though I have not verified whether FFS can handle these two formats at the same time, we'll see, I may report back.

Correct, Mac OS doesn't have native NTFS support. exFAT is the recommended format for compatibility between Mac OS and Windows. FFS won't have an issue with this

One weird thing has happened though: I had 2 disks with exact same copy, so I formatted one to APFS first and then tried to move NTFS files to it. But it gave an error:50. So then I converted APFS to HPS+ on Mac. It still wouldn't accept any files from NTFS (it would from my Mac's own disk). I am now working on Windows, using Paragon HPS+ freeware and this seems to work (at least the transfer of files are on the way with no errors so far, 30 minutes more to go). Obviously, this does not make too much sense but I am not sure where I made the mistake. We'll see...

Well yeah... Like I just said, Mac OS doesn't have a way to access NTFS volumes and the data on them. Paragon's APFS and HFS+ for Windows programs are good
