how it works: basically it ignores the name of the files and simply compares sizes to assume if theyre same or not , so if there was 3 same sized file in same file itd assume its the same file (if they arent we can manually change it which would greatly decrease the work load compared to checking every single file)
why i think its useful/necessary in my use case : it shows all my files as a different file just because i changed the name order(i added tags to file names so that i can search them easier) and im trying to check if i accidently erased anything and recover it from the old backup

Like answered often in this forum to similar questions:
What you need is a duplicate finder, not a synchronization tool.

ah that didnt come to my mind , thanks for that
(although i still think that there should be an option for that because its not difficult , its useful and a valid comparison standard)(something like "box -use file name for comparison of files") on side of comparison variants would be nice)

(Aside from a duplicate file finder...)
For finding files, there is nothing better then Everything.
(Everything 1.5 alpha is even better.)
Once found, you can send them to a place like a file hasher.
(Pictured files are all offline, so no actual hashes were generated. Otherwise, it would, & they would compare - hopefully.)
Everything, https://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9787
CHK, http://compressme.net/ (or whatever hasher you prefer)

For the purpose in first post of this thread, you need to do a sync with database enabled at least ONCE in FreeFileSync before renaming files, otherwise FreeFileSync would unable to tracking name changes without the database.
The FreeFileSync database rely on file IDs in the file system to track changes such as file move and rename(seen as update in FreeFileSync).
For reference please read the manual
