I just downloaded 14.5 to my desktop, double-clicked the installer, it goes through the whole installation and at the end, it gives me an error, claiming I used the /silent flag when I did no such thing.
I tried uninstalling, downloading the installer again to the Downloads folder, started it, changed the name of the installation folder to Program Files\FreeFileSyncTry2, and got the same error.
When I try to run FreeFileSync, it tells me there's no install.dat file and refuses to start.
The fact that this app and "for f**k's sake" have the same initials seems very ironic at this moment.

I also went in via terminal and launched the installer from there to ensure the installer was being run without a /silent flag. Still got the error.
Tried running with ProcMon but the exported log was over 180 MB. So I went into event viewer, but the only events in any category were related to the alert pop-up. There were no security or other exception events immediately preceding it.

Can you send me a Process Monitor trace for the installation until the error message comes up?
