Tested out FreeFileSync V14.5_x86_64_04.102025 on Linux Mint 22.1 to sync 2 directories on 2 different NTFS partitions on 2 different disks (from ID3 to ID1 in system information, approx. 200MB to copy/delete for the sync).

Observed:
Complete freeze of Cinnamon desktop, system completly stalled, no progress shown in FreeFileSync window. After 10 min waiting time forced hardware restart of Linux but the target disk and partition can't be mouted any more. Restarted system with WIN10 boot to verify partitions and disk but found now problems.

In fact the both directories for the test had been syncronized correctly.

Tested this multiple times with different directories but with same results.

Remark:
The WIN10 system has hibernated disabled and does always a complete shutdown before Linux is booted!

So please help me how to mount the partition for Linux again and how to avoid this system freeze on Linux.

Thank's in advance.

UPDATE:
I've found a way to mount the partition in question again, but the problem with system freeze caused by FreeFileSync continues.

UPDATE 2:
No way found to prevent FreeFileSync from freezing the LINUX System.
Work around: uninstall FreeFileSync on LINUX and use Meld and Grsync instead. No as handy as FreeFileSync but working with no prblems.

Did that come from a repo or from FFS directly?

> Tested this multiple times with different directories but with same results.

So I take it that any run of FFS will cause a system freeze?
I.e., 1 single file, from 1 directory, & sync that to a different directory.
(And it does actually complete, though locks you up - that's weird.)

Are you able to run FFS in some sort of VM & have it lock up the system itself, & gather some debug information from there, assuming it hangs the VM?
