I have a desktop that I have been synching to a Synology NAS for several years using mapped drive paths. I now have a new laptop which I would like to keep selected folders in sync with the desktop via the NAS. New folders were successfully created and populated on the laptop by sync to the NAS. I then tested adding, changing and deleting files on both devices, then synching and all seems OK. I am careful not to run syncs from both devices at the same.
My concern is whether this is safe if adding, deleting and moving large numbers of files. Both devices are on version 14.7. Are there any precautions I need to take?

Perfectly fine use, it's kind of the point of FFS. Make sure you are using two-way syncing on both devices, which is the default when creating a sync config. FFS uses 'lock' files to prevent multiple sessions from using the same root/base locations, even across multiple machines. You may want to play around and test with test data to get more familiar with how things work, but you shouldn't have any issues with a two devices two-way syncing to a NAS
