When I try to sync, FFS keeps telling me it doesn't have access to the recycle bin. How do I give it access?

Most likely, the problem is rather that there is no recycle bin available; at least not one that FreeFileSync (FFS) is aware of.
This often happens if a the FFS sync would delete or overwrite a file in a remote location, e.g. a NAS.
The remote location may not support a recycle bin, or may support a "local" recycle bin that is not visible to FFS. In the latter case the deleted file on the remote location may still be "moved' to the local recycle bin, but this is invisible to FFS.
As a more flexible alternative to using recycle bins, you can select Versioning as your Delete and Overwrite method in your Synchronization Settings (F8).
This allows you to keep as many previous versions as you select for as long as you select in a self selected location, of all files that get deleted or overwritten by your sync.

Thanks so much! I created a new recycle bin folder on the destination drive and designated that folder in the Synchronization Settings, and it is working great.
