I am performing a backup (mirror) of a directory from my laptop to a Toshiba disk ("backup disk") formatted in NTFS. I use version 14.9 donation edition, Portable, but the problem also occured in a previous version (FreeFileSync_14.6_[Donation_Edition]_Windows_Portable).

Description:
For files which do not yet exist on the backup disk, the files are created, but creation date of a part of them is set to the date and time of the mirror action.
If I then redo the check, the files on the backup disk show up as being newer than the originals.

Test directory:
I have created a test directory which contains several files.
The date of the file bui_paper.pdf is not correctly set. The other files are fine.
(There is another file which shows this problem, AI_Physics_2509.13805v2.pdf, but it is has 6 MB. For several others the problem does not appear.)

I think this is a bug. If you can discover its cause, I would love to continue using the software, but as it is now, the bug makes my usage of the software impossible :-(

Worked fine for me, using your files provided, running 14.9 Donation Edition as well. Is this Toshiba disk attached via USB? Or is it some cloud/network device? Copying the files manually is a good test. If the same thing happens, it isn't a FFS issue, because FFS essentially uses the same APIs as manually performing the work. Other than that, a system trace could be performed.
