Hello,
Where can I find the syntax of TimeSpan in the *.ffs_gui files?
Usually it says: <TimeSpan Type="None">0</TimeSpan>.
But I assume there are more types than “None,” and what is the unit of the value (0 in this case)?
Thanks in advance.

You can manage the "Time span" in the "Filter" panel in "Synchronization Settings".

Thanks Gianni.
Next question: Is it also possible to sync all files before a certain date, for example, everything before January 1, 2023?

Right-click in the left or right column header of the Compare results, and then "Select time span".
See https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=tips-and-tricks#select-time-span

Set your left/from date as early as applicable,
and your right/to date to January 1, 2023 (or December 31, 2022)

Yes, but does that (the time-span) get saved in .ffs_gui or .ffs_batch, or is it only applicable during the (GUI) scan itself?

(It did not seem to affect .ffs_gui or .ffs_batch, when I looked.
<TimeSpan Type="None">0</TimeSpan>
remained unaffected.)

I considered WiBoBnl's second question as a separate question, unrelated to his first question on time-span syntax.

Never tried, but I don't think so.
But that is probably not very important, because, unlike the Today/This month/This year/Last x days time-span syncs, these From/To Date time-span syncs are generally one-time syncs.
Or at most, you would re-run such a sync with modified Date time-span settings.
