The portable version is included in the setup.exe. There is an option to
extract data only.

Did download the setup.exe and ran it and saw the option prior to your reply.

Using this thread I created a while back since it's dealing with .ZIP format
for FFS...
At my workplace we went from Windows XP Pro (on a Dell) to Windows 7
Enterprise SP1 (HP DC6200; 64 bit machine). Before I get into my request,
running application setup programs are only available to those with
administrator rights; I do not have these rights (standard user using a
roaming profile).
I use FFS in a portable mode and had saved all my files prior to switching
over to Win7. I was able to restore FFS to the new locations on my computer
and am able to run it.
Is it possbile to have a .ZIP version of FFS containg the necessary files for
portable use only? Understand the installer allows a portable installation,
but am not able to run it because of the restrictions I mentioned earler.
Thanks.

You can install portably from a different PC with admin rights, then just copy
the program files onto the PC where you need them. The goal is to minimize the
amount of different FFS installation formats in order to avoid confusion which
version one should pick.

Since there isn't anyone at my workplace with admin rights. So, if I install
portably onto my home computer (Vista/32) and save the files to a CD/DVD and
copy them to my work computer (Win 7/64) that should do the trick?

In fact it doesn't really matter if you install "local" or portably, in both
cases the same files will be copied, but "local" will create "uninstall.exe"
in addition. On startup FFS checks if "uninstall.exe" is existing, if "yes",
it will save configuration in %appdata%\FreeFileSync if "no", it'll store them
directly in the installation directory. If you want "local" behavior on your
work PC, too, just copy over "uninstall.exe".
