I just installed FFS on OSX El Capitan, first time, completely new. Dragged FFS.app to /Applications, and opened the app. I see a nice screen. Clicking "Open" brings up a file chooser window. Clicking however, clicking "New" (or File->New) does nothing. I presume it should bring up some menu, or at least an error message (e.g., cannot create config directory, etc.)

other observations:

I can probably figure out how to mount a server linux directory to a local directory with fuse, but for other OSX users, instructions on the sftp page will probably helpful. there is one issue here, however. if the remote server fails to mount, the fuse mount may fail, and then all hell could break loose. there will be a directory (to which we mount the foreign file system), but we would not want to fill up the local drive with a second copy. this is why native ssh or sftp support has an advantage over a fuse-mounted directory.

There is also a RealTimeSync app in the zip file, but no explanation for what it is or does. I did not copy it. I found docs by googling at https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=realtimesync , and it seems useful, but there probably should be a "readme" file that says that there are two apps, and blah blah blah...
