Can you send me a crash dump file for the "FreeFileSync_8.3_Windows_Setup.tmp" process? With some luck I should be able to find the root of the problem:

Latest version also crashes, during the agreement scroll. The ZIPped dump is 62M, and cannot be emailed to the address in the FFS "Info" box.

Based on another thread, I tried disabling Bitdefender temporarily, and the install completed successfully.

BD was reporting "an infected item in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Temp\ns08082391\xxxxxxxx_stp\setup.exe. Virus name: Gen:Variant.Adware.DealPly.50."

"xxxxxxxx" was 8 hex numbers - "1990C7BD" for the latest version of the installer.

8.3 installed and working fine now.
