Ad-Free version cannot find new version

I donated and downloaded the ad-free version 8.1. When it tells me there is a new version available, it always brings me to the ads-included download. Is a donation required for every update in order to remain ad-free?

OK, my donation was $20 in May, which, I believe should get me 6 months access, but it does not.

The persistent download page is relatively new and was not available at the time you donated. Anyway, I've sent you the link via email.

Thanks, I did not realize that the download link I received after my donation would download new versions over time. I thought that the program "knew" of my donation and would take me to the correct download page when it reported a new version. This works pretty much the exact opposite of everything else I've ever bought on line. Oh well, live and learn.
