Good morning,
I have used FFS for quite some time now and I now have a strange issue. I did a full drive to drive sync yesterday at the end of which the synchronization settings > filter window popped up. No matter what I tried (OK, Cancel, Clear) the window keeps on popping up. Now the program always brings up the window and I can never get pass that screen. I even uninstalled FFS and reinstalled it fully, to no avail.
I'm running FFS v8.8 on Windows 10.
Any idea what I should do?
Thank you in advance,
Victor

Even when you restart, the sync settings window is opened automatically?

That's correct. It's very strange. I uninstalled the program, restart the PC, reinstall. I open FFS and as soon as I click on browse, it hangs then pulls the window open with no chance of closing it. I can't switch tabs either. It's stuck on filters.
The Windows install is 2 weeks old so the system is pretty clean.

The fact that this only happens when clicking "browse" is a clue. Windows Explorer extensions hook themselves into other processes that access the file browser and can cause all sorts of havok if they contain bugs. If you send a manual crash dump (https://freefilesync.org/faq.php#crash) I'm sure we'll find something.

I continued to poke around and I must correct my last statement. It doesn't happen when I click Browse, it happens when the FreeFileSync window becomes active (ie when I click on it).
I created the dumps with Process Explorer. Here they are:

Thank you very much for taking the time to looking into those.

I'm seeing this file in the call stack:
C:\Program Files (x86)\TeamViewer\tv_x64.dll
Looks like it's TeamViewer that is interfering.

You are entirely right!
I remotely connect to this machine so often, I didn't even think about the possible interference. I tried FFS directly without using TeamViewer and it worked perfectly! To be clear, TeamViewer is still running on the machine, I didn't have to close the process, but instead of running FFS through a TeamViewer connection, I ran it directly on the machine. We are all good!
Thank you so much for a great program by the way. I came from Allway Sync but have now been using FFS for many years. After this stellar support, I am on my way to the donation page!
