can't install FFS on Lubuntu 16.04 32 bit

I've been happily using FFS on variour ubuntu machines and never had a problem - excellent piece of software, thank you! Now I can't install it from the ppa in an older pc, with Lubuntu 16.04.1, 32 bit. This is what I get (it's in Italian , I hope you'll understand the gist anyway):

Here I get a number of error messages about the repository's authentication, which then prevent me from installing FFS (the message is that the programme can't be found).
I've tried to look for these error messages on this forum, but I couldn't find any answer. I would greatly appreciate any help. I've also downloaded the 32bit version for Debian, but I'm not sure it would be ok for my system, and in any case when I extract the file I can't find any file with the .deb extension and hence gdebi can't open the file named 'freefilesync'.

The launchpad repository is currently unmaintained, however you can download the 32-bit Debian release from https://freefilesync.org/download.php
