sync if nw share becomes available

Hello!
Let me describe my setup: the source is a directory on a PC, the target is a directory shared from another PC. The sync should start on source PC as soon as the target (nw-share) becomes available, so when the target PC is booted up. how do I implement this? I tried with mounted networkdrive but there seems to be no specific event watching continuiously watching when it becomes available like when inserting a usb drive.It's a bit tricky as the sync has to be started and executed on the source pc...
Maybe someone can give me a hint or point me in the right direction.
