FreeFileSync 9.0 FTP option don´t work with my WD MyCloud

Hi,

When i use use the FTP option in my WD MyCloud, he give me the error 550 (file not found). When i configure, i see in the directory tree all my directory.

If i use an FTP software to connect to the WD MyCloud, i don´t have any problems (below, is the log from the FTP client).

Analysis so far:

The server is running Pure-FTPd and the server request mlst / fails with 550 Can't check for file existence. But more generally: all requests using an absolute path of the form ""mlst /folder/file" fail with 550.

Interestingly this error is dependent from CWD (current working directory): If the CWD is not "/" then the error above does not occur in combination with absolute paths. => clearly a Pure-FTPd bug.
The question is if there is a workaround...

Hi,

Primary test indicate that is working fine (don´t give me anymore the error 550, unless the CWD is /. This is in line with my FTP Client. He makes the same thing)

When he finish the syncronization, he give me the following message:

I thing this happen because the way FTP handles with data/time (it always copy the data and create it with the data of the FTP server). Is there a way to workaround with this ?


Another thing is the comparation between computer and FTP server data. Is there a way to shadow the option "Data and File size" when we use the option FTP ? (That option in FTP don´t make any sense and may confuse some users)

You may ignore the warning message. However most FTP servers nowadays support MFMT, so a compare by "date and size" makes sense.

Ok after having tried with v9.1, I'm still having issues, especially with special characters like "#" :

Thanks for the awesome software. I've tried some other software before yours, but they didn't work so well.
I have too a WD NAS. Actualy I'm using SFTP to run the synchronization, but I would like to move to a more (un)secure protocol, so my NAS could be a bit more protected from external attacks. Can I try too the 9.1 beta? Actualy I cannot access this link.

I tested the FTP option working with 80Gb of information in several trees and, for now, is working fine. I have only one question that i don´t discovery if it´s an error or something else:

I have one file that give me an error, i deleted in the NAS and in the source, and the error still there... the error is:

Are you able to reproduce this error or ideally able to provide me with ways to reproduce on my end? FFS should not show an error about failing to delete a file when that file does not exist.

However, MFMT problem here too, FTP-ing to a Windows IIS FTP server (under my own control).
Apparently, IIS has a modified implementation of the MFMT command, from what I read on the odd fora.
Are you going to support IIS FTP?
I'm running FFS v9.3 now.
