Time stamp different on equal files

Hi all - my first post.
Love FFS but just encountered this strange problem.
Returning to my backup on a USB stick, 90% of the backup files on right hand of FFS have a time stamp exactly one hour later than the laptop files on the left hand of FFS.
Same date, name and size so I'm certain they equal files.
I guess I can mirror sync again to equalise them, but what exactly has gone wrong here?
