Hi
My upgrade from 10.18 to 10.24 will not complete.
The install apparently reaches the end and then it gives me a launch error with the message:
---------------
Error launching FreeFileSync
Cannot determine final path for "C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync.exe"
ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND: The system cannot find the file specified. [CreateFile]
-----------------
An examination of the path above shows all as it should be with the specified file present.
A reload of v10.18 works perfectly.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I suppose you're trying to install 24 over top of 18?
(Backup first.)
Maybe uninstall 18, then see if 24 installs anew?
My initial thought is that you have 32-bit version of 18 installed, & because of 32/64 quirks in Windows (& directories where 32/64 bit programs typically install into) that something in that miss-mash is messing things up. (But then, second thought would be, even with 18, you'd most likely be running the 64-bit version in any case.)

Installing a newer FreeFileSync version over an older version is always supported.
That said, issue is probably AV or other interfering software. The tool to find out is: https://freefilesync.org/faq.php#trace

Many thanks for the quick responses.
As it happens I tried uninstalling and then running the 10.24; all that happened is it could not find the version of exe in the Bin directory.
The good news is that when setting up to use the process monitor, as suggested above, v10.25 downloaded and installed perfectly.
So we still don't know what the problem was, but I am a happy camper because I have my update.
