Hi. Today I tried to sync via network for the first time.
However my old files from desktop has overwritten to my laptop which has new files.
I tried different folders with different files and it has same results.
Could you fix it? If I sync from usb after moving same files, it works well.
Seems like my desktop has a priority. (I ran the programme from the desktop)
network drive sync

What sync settings are you using?

comparing time and size.
It is weird that regardless of time and size, it always copies from desktop to the laptop.

The sync has a source and destination, which is very important, unless you are using two-way

I use two-way and usually it compares correctly and overwrites from new to old ones.
However, when sync between desktop and laptop, which is connected via network drive, it does not work.

(Two Way Sync)
(Date/Time Compare)
Does left/right (source/destination) still apply with a Two Way sync?
(Seemly, per xCSxXenon, no.)
Oh, I'm totally confused under what circumstances a file may go left to right vs. right to left (or no change at all)?
And what, the sync.ffs_db must play into this also? Just what is stored in sync.ffs_db?
You're doing what, syncing between drives on a single machine?
Is there an actual "network drive" between the two, or is simply a network connection that the desktop & laptop are both connected through?

That's pretty straight forward.... Oh, I'm totally confused under what circumstances a file may go left to right vs. right to left (or no change at all)? ... therube, 11 Sep 2020, 17:46
In the FFS GUI go to the Synchronization Settings (F8).
After you select your sync variant, it shows 5 Categories and 5 corresponding Actions.
If you move your mouse over a Category or a cosseponding Action, the GUI will show a tool-tip explaining the Category or Action.
For the Two way, Mirror and Update sync variant, the Action per Category is predefined and fixed; for the Custom variant you can select your own Action per Category by clicking an Action icon and thus cycling through available Actions for that Category.
