System:
Windows 7 Proffessional 64 bit
FFS 5.0

I am logged into windows a an administrator. Outlook is NOT running. I am
trying to synch local drive D with an external harddrive.

I get the following error:

Error copying locked file "D:\Documents\Outlook Files\Outlook.pst"!

Error accessing Volume Shadow Copy Service!
(The caller does not have sufficient backup privileges or is not an
administrator.
HRESULT: 0x80070005,
Access is denied. Volume: "D:\")

I read on a different forum that the problem is that the depostory of windows
has the wrong info. I already did the following to reset the directory in the
CMD.exe window:

net stop winmgmt
cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem
ren repository repository.old
net start winmgmt
exit
restart computer

but... I still get the same error. Who knows what the problem could be??

FFS needs to be started with admin rights.

Thank you for your reply.

As I wrote, I am logged into Windows as an administrator. So when I start FFS,
it was started with admin rights. Or is something lese necessary?

In addition: under global settings, I ticked the copy locked files option.

Yes, try right-clicking the executable and select "run as administrator", this
should work now.

Yes, you are right. Right clicking the excutable works.

But this means that the desktop short cut will not work.

I have FFS set up as an automatic task in the night. How can I make sure it is
always "run as an administrator"

You can set properties of FreeFileSync.exe to "always run as administrator".
