My apologies in advance if you have already seen this a few times. I want to use FileSych to clean up the otherwise disaster of backups. If you've been down this path maybe you can send some advice. I have numerous back-ups across multiple folders and devices. I've used a pile of different synch programs over the years and as I upgraded computers they have all fallen by the wayside. Now I would like to clean it all up and automate the lot once again. The daunting part is knowing what I have and making sure I don't lose or miss anything. Is there a function in FFS to create and inventory of what I have? For example I want to export a list of the files and folders I'm interested in, and go thru them in chunks for simplicity. I was hoping FFS Export File List would help but it does not seem intended for this. I might have to resort to DOS... :(

You can sync manually, step by step: https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=tips-and-tricks#sync-selection

Additional to the above:
you can run a Compare in the FFS GUI and then export the file list as a *.csv file via Tools > Export file list .
If you open such *.csv file e.g. in Excel, you can sort by any suitable criteria.
