Hi-
I'm a Windows 7 user plagued with period file and/or folder disappearances. Well, it happens only once a year or so, but even rare disappearances of big folders is still Serious...
Trying to remember to save in 2 locations just doesn't work, long-term. Sooner or later one forgets and Windows, bless its evil little heart, pounces. (There's a joke about helicopters for those in the trade: a helicopter is a collection of parts flying in loose formation- Windows is similar! It's many things, but reliable ain't one of them.)
So i determined that FFS was my best bet and set about trying to learn it. I'm having a terrible time making FFS work but it doesn't frustrate me because, as nearly as i can determine, for simple file duplicating/'synchronizing', it's no faster than just manually saving to two locations. Correct me if i'm missing something- but it seems to me that there are about the same number of steps in saving to a second location, as in opening FFS, using it to do same, and closing FFS. No?
So, for me, it's RealTimeSync or bust. Only setting that up, configuring it, is, for us simpler minds, a nightmare. Can somebody explain to me, using short words and big arrows, how to set up RTS to mirror files (2-way sync'ing not required)?
Thanks a lot.
