Hi everyone
since the snyc process on my Mac (High SIerra, 20 GB RAM, USB ports and connected external drive connected are fine and work without any problems with other pieces of software) was not terribly sluggish and slowed down the entire system, I "bought" the donation version.
Nothing much has changed though. The comparison stage still takes ages, and I continue getting writing rates close to 0-0.5 elements/sec. despite having changed the number of parallel threads to 2, 3, 5 and 10.
Is there anything I have overlooked and/or am doing wrong? Thanks for some guidance regarding this issue.

Parallel threads in only useful for network connections typically. It is applicable when a connection is artificially limited and can leverage multiple threads to get faster speeds. Besides that, the donation edition works identically to the free version. As the issue has come up multiple times in the past, it is always something else causing the interruption. For some, it is cloud storage, or antivirus, and some other software, and it has never been FFS itself. Can you run a system log while using it?

Thanks for getting back.
Good to know about the donation version. Still happy to have done it since I have been using the software for a while now, so money well spent. Does that mean that for local file syncs, I can safely ignore the number of threads and leave it at 1?
Interesting to hear this is a known issue. As a matter of fact, the rest of the system is running very smoothly @20 GB RAM and 4 x 2,66Mhz. Also, I don't use cloud storage or an antivirus software but I'm curious to find out what causes the lag, nay, almost meltdown.
How do I create a system log?
