Hello,
I have understood that the difference between "Mirror" and "Update" is that "Mirror" will delete files if necessary, whereas "Update" will not delete; merely add.
So what happens if I activate "Detect moved files" when using "Update"? Will the moved file be deleted from the old location or will I end up with two copies?
Kind regards,
tim.

When selecting the Update sync variant, the option to "Detect moved files" is grayed out and can not be check marked.
If you move a file inside your left (source) base location or any of its (sub)directories, your (right) destination location will have two copies of that file; one in the old/original location and one in the new location.

( ... as I would obviously have found out had I tried it out before just asking :-) ... )
But thanks for the quick feedback,
tim.

This issue has been "fixed" in the next FreeFileSync version by providing a proper DB-based "update" variant!
